I am slightly saddened that the prominent memory for many of the 'students' I went to Europe with will be buying 'mini kegs' at the train station in Rome.  Oh well, I suppose my expectations were too high for southern youth sheltered from reality and responsibility by mommy and daddy's money.  Why go to Europe to learn about culture when you can just get trashed instead?

While I know that quitting an addictive substance can be hard, that is no excuse for having started the use of one in the first place - especially in this day and age when anyone under 25 has grown up knowing from day one that smoking is addictive and causes cancer.

Before I came to UGA I was an assistant manager at a Bi-Lo grocery store and had the esteemed privilege of selling cigarettes to single parents in their twenties by the carton - the same single parents that would use government WIC vouchers and food stamps for their groceries.  The insult to the injury comes when these Emmy award winners get lung cancer and receive Medicaid healthcare for free because they spend all of their money on cigarettes!

'La Cantina' is a small restaurant located in South Carolina - directions are as simple as "go past Riverside Middle School and turn right at the Herring Hut."  While the restaurant boasts a high seating capacity that will always exceed its clientele, be sure to make reservations because 'those are the rules.'
